Getting to Jungle Fiesta: Cancún airport to Ozen, what to pack, March weather
Jungle Fiesta is a 5-day international handstand festival in Mexico, held 12–17 March 2027 at Ozen Resort in the Riviera Maya. Here's everything you need to plan the trip.
Where is Ozen?
Ozen Resort sits in 18 hectares of jungle just inland from Playa del Carmen, on Mexico's Caribbean coast. Its own figures: about 8 km from downtown Playa del Carmen and 41 km from Cancún International Airport. Everything you need for the week is on-site: the training halls, a cenote, a 572 m² pool that winds through the trees, the dining hall and your cabin.
Flights
Fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN). It's one of the best-connected airports in Latin America, with direct flights from many US and Canadian cities, from Mexico City, and from several European hubs, including Madrid. Check direct routes from your city before booking connections.
Arrive: Friday 12 March 2027. Arrival and check-in run from midday, with lunch at 13:30 and the first workshop at 16:00.
Leave: Wednesday 17 March 2027.
Book a flight that lands by late morning on the 12th if you can, so you don't miss the first session.
From the airport to Ozen
The drive is roughly 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and which terminal you land at.
Shared shuttle: we run shared shuttles from the airport on arrival day and back on departure day. It's a paid add-on, not included in the ticket. Send us your flight details after booking and we'll put you on the right one.
Taxi or private transfer: available at the airport; agree the price before you get in.
Already in Playa del Carmen? Ozen is about 20 minutes away by taxi.
Weather in March
March is dry season on the Riviera Maya. Expect daytime temperatures of around 28–32°C (82–90°F), warm evenings and plenty of sun. It's hot enough that the pool will be part of your recovery plan.
What to pack
Training clothes for heat: several sets, they'll get sweaty.
Wrist supports if you use them.
Your own blocks or canes if you train on them and can travel with them (ask us if you're unsure).
Swimwear for the pool and the cenote.
Light layers for the evenings.
Sunscreen and insect repellent.
A yoga mat if you have a travel one (mats are available on-site).
Flip-flops or sandals for walking between cabins.
You'll get a full packing list by email after booking.
Visas, insurance and money
Visas: visitors from the US, Canada, the UK and the EU don't need a visa for a short stay in Mexico. Some Latin American passports need a visa or electronic authorisation. Check Mexico's official consular site (gob.mx/sre) for yours.
Insurance: get travel insurance that covers cancellation and sports injury.
Money: tickets are priced in US dollars. Meals are included, so you'll only need cash or a card for extras like the shuttle, souvenirs or a trip into Playa.
